Dear Member,

I am writing this letter to ask for your support and vote on Saturday, December 4^th for the office of Financial Secretary Treasurer of Local Union #157. Let me give you a brief summary of my years with our Local and then explain why I am running for the office. First, I am just like many of you. I have worked away from home to support my family (Tulsa, Poplar Bluff, Wood River, etc). I have walked picket lines, passed out handbills, and participated in Labor Rallies. I have always tried to help our Local Union in whatever capacity that I could. I graduated from our apprenticeship program and have been an “active” member for 25 years. I have held the office of Recording Secretary from 1987-89 and have currently been serving as your Vice President since 1999. I also had the honor of representing you and our Local Union as a delegate to the United Association conventions and the Indiana State Pipe Trades conventions. I have attended U.A. Salting Classes, Comet Classes, and completed a Union Counselor Training program. I understand the importance of community service and have participated in activities such as the March of Dimes, Relay for Life, and Dollars for Diabetes, to name a few. I also understand how important politics is to the welfare of our members, and I am currently the Precinct Committeeman for my area.
